Add a few buzzwords like “scientifically proven” and “the secret professionals use,” and you're all but grapping the phone and pulling out your cards. Don't be a fool!

It is a physically impossibility to gain 10 pounds of muscle in 3 days.

There, I’ve said it. Short of artificially grafting on additional muscles through some space-age surgical procedure, it is just not possible to gain 10 pounds of muscle that quickly. I don’t care what the ads promise; don’t believe them.

All of those ads, mags, and sites are just a part of the multi-billion dollar muscle growth schemes that are promoted by the supplement industry daily.

The industry promotes these messages constantly, replete with phony testimonials and questionable "research" which allegedly show that some supplement is great and that it will allow you to gain 10 pounds of muscle quickly.

The fact of the matter is that all of these boasts are muscle building cons. While you can locate some quality supplements, none of them claim to have the ability to help you gain 10 pounds of muscle instantly.

That being said, even the most powerful supplement is no substitute for pushing yourself in your workouts.

No matter how the promise is phrased, whether you can gain 10 pounds of muscle in one week or that you will burn fat at three times the typical rate, you must evaluate the quality of a supplement based on real research and not fake testimonials. Visit your gym frequently, stress your entire body with a targeted approach, progressively increase your weight and reps, consume the right foods, and get enough rest and sleep.
