Donkey Calf Raises

Exercise:

Donkey Calf Raises

Target Muscle:

Calves

Secondary Muscle:

None

Equipment Needed:

Stationary object about waist high to lean on

Proper Execution:

Stand a couple feet away from a stationary object that you can lean on for support. Have a training partner sit above your legs to provide resistance for the exercise. Drive the weight by standing up on your toes as high as possible. Once at the top, pause briefly, squeeze your calves and then return back to the starting position.

Tips:

Keep your knees bent throughout the exercise as this will minimize joint stress. Also remember to use a full range of motion by standing on your toes as high as you can and lowering your heels down as far as they will go.
